WOMEN’S 6 NATIONS
Women's Six Nations tasked us with the responsibility to make the female rugby player more recognisable and relatable to the everyday rugby fan. A lot is at stake for these players, getting the chance to represent their country means so much.
However, during this difficult period of the pandemic, we had very limited access to the players, only being able to contact them through a video chat.
We decided to let the players tell their rugby stories by showing us old photos, from key moments in their rugby lives, taking us on their journey. Using images found in family albums to social media, we created dynamic content that let the player's voice shine through. To strengthen the idea of bringing a story to life we enhanced the original photos into a moving image to emphasise the ‘bringing to life’ aspect of these stories. Not only did we tell their story, but we also brought their passion and love for the game centre stage.
Connecting with new and old fans, over 100,000 times
These role models know how important it is for young people to see women succeeding at the highest level. It was our responsibility to convey this to the fans: elevating them to star status through their real life stories. Our content was viewed over 100,000 times during the tournament.
